Ahhh.... April in Florida! Balmy weather, refreshing dry winds, sunshine for days, and bumper crops! It's a great time to visit for those seeking sunshine and warmer temperatures as the days get longer. And it brings out the gardener in all of us!
However, those of us who know, also know that temperatures will rise soon, bringing May rain, heat & humidity!
What should a Tower Gardener plant in the Tower Garden FLEX in April? Warm season crops! Warm-season crops do best if temperatures are above 70 F. These include green beans, Everglades tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, cucumbers, tropical squash, summer squash, pumpkins, Piracicaba broccoli and melons.

Everglades tomatoes are a teeny, tiny, incredibly prolific wild tomatoes that will produce in late spring and late summer, possibly even through the dead of summer, and do fantastic in Florida!
Can I still grow lettuce? Yes, you can! The cooling power of the tower allows us to beat the seasons!
